The picture is a reminder of the underlying problem facing all of humanity. It is a major reason we have such a worldwide economic problem. If such an improportionate amount of our budget were not spent on military and weapons we would not have such a huge national debt. We would not have to have military bases throughout the world. We would have  money to meet our more pressing social problems. The picture also brings us back to the title of the website Work For Peace.

Steven Leeper has given his entire life to the elimination of nuclear weapons. Since the Fukushima disaster in March, 2011 he now realizes that all nuclear power is a problem for humanity. In Japan the disaster has severely hurt the production of organic foods and created other dis asters. One of the groups he works with is called Uncanny Terrain.

Bill Crumley has written a book: Why we Are Always Broke: things we need to know about the economy.
